I have an issue. Raspberry Pi with Raspberry Pi OS Lite. I have a .php file located in /var/www/html/bloomsky.php
This .php file just calls for a new image to be downloaded from AmazonAWS servers on a 1 minute interval (testing at 1 minute , but will bump to 5 or so in the future) When I access the website and point it directly at the bloomsky.php file then the PHP file does work to download an updated image and overwrite the image that was present in /var/www./html/image.jpg
When I check the time stamp of the image.jpg file it shows the current time that the bloomsky.php file reached out and grabbed a new one and overwrote it.
So the PHP file is working as intended.
So I created a cron job to run that bloomsky.php file on a regular consistent basis.
Crontab -e to create the entry
Here is the entire file
# # To define the time you can provide concrete values for # minute (m), hour (h), day of month (dom), month (mon), # and day of week (dow) or use '*' in these fields (for 'any'). # # Notice that tasks will be started based on the cron's system # daemon's notion of time and timezones. # # Output of the crontab jobs (including errors) is sent through # email to the user the crontab file belongs to (unless redirected). # For example, you can run a backup of all your user accounts # at 5 a.m every week with: # 0 5 * * 1 tar -zcf /var/backups/home.tgz /home/ # # For more information see the manual pages of crontab(5) and cron(8) # # m h dom mon dow command * * * * * root /usr/bin/php /var/www/html/bloomsky.php
